It's time to get real. It's time for full disclosure. Those of you who know me personally, are already familiar with some of the reasons that you haven't seen me online talking up the fitness thing for a while. For those of you who don't know me personally, here goes.
In January I took a full time job teaching at a college. In April, I was promoted to Associate Dean. All good things. However, I will honestly admit that up until now, I never fully understood the struggles that most people encounter on a daily basis to hold down a full time corporate-type job, while maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It is a challenge! (understatement of the year??)
Suffice it to say, between taking on a full time job, the added stress of a 40 minute commute (one way), still training a couple clients, a car accident in April, a minor surgery in August, arthritic inflammation in my shoulder, a neuroma in my foot, and achilles tendonitis...I'm a HOT MESS! I've gained 30lbs since doing the NPC shows last year, and no it's not 30lbs of muscle!
Inactivity begets inactivity. Unhealthy eating begets unhealthy eating. It's time to take it back.
So Facebook - those of you who are working and struggling just to get to the gym - know that I am doing this with you. I've taken some photos of where I am now, and invite you to follow me as I document my progress. It IS possible to have it all, and I'm going to figure out how to do just that. Each week, I will face new challenges. I welcome these challenges as opportunities to share with you ways to overcome those everyday barriers to achieving health and fitness.
here are my current stats:
162.8lbs (up from 130 last year)
28% body fat (up from 17%)
I invite you to send me your stats as well, and together, we can do work on bringing those numbers down!
Let's get it!!!
